It is not established that there were two hands (i.e. a later addition of
'brother of Jesus' to an early brief 'James, son of Joseph').
Frank Moore Cross and Joseph Fitzmyer have stated (at a private viewing of
the ossuary) that they agree with Lemaire that there is only one "scribe"
(the "hand" of which drifts into a little cursive in the later portion of
the inscription).
I understand that these three are pretty experienced in such matters.
